CryptoNight – What is Bitcoin?

On Monday, October 22nd, Mary Jane Sanchez from WurkHub and I hosted an educational event in Downtown Waukesha about what Bitcoin is, and what affects it has on specific industries. If you weren’t able to attend, I encourage you to watch the video below. The presentation begins around the 6:22 mark.

Two of the great questions I received during CryptoNight…

Do you find [Bitcoin] to be more of a younger persons thing?

From my personal experience, I’ve worked with people as young as 16 and as old as 80 in the cryptocurrency community and haven’t personally seen any age correlation. Analytics (as of 10/22) from coin.dance show that users in the age group between 25-34 are most actively engaged with Bitcoin, with users aged between 35-44 being the most actively engaged while users 18-24 only make up for 13.84% of the engagement. Unfortunately, the 80-year-old man I’ve worked with seems to be quite the outlier, with his age range only making up for 1.26% of Bitcoin’s engagement.

How many univiersities or colleges in Wisconsin use Bitcoin?

Unfortunately, I don’t know of any colleges in Wisconsin that are accepting Bitcoin yet. However, in the state of New York, King’s College is accepting Bitcoin for Tuition, Donations and other miscellaneous expenses. I hope to see Wisconsin colleges following in their footsteps in the near future.

Moving Forward
